"The Rhodesian Ridgeback" , the Rhodesian Ridgeback book for the series "An Owners Guide to a Healthy Happy Pet", written by Eileen Bailey of Symetri. I am somewhat biased since there are many pictures of my dogs throughout the book! A great read, especially for the beginner, with great pictures of many New England and Mid-Atlantic dogs.

We had a nice showing at the 2008 National in Gettysburg, PA. Pirate earned 3rd place in the Bred By Exibitor class and Riddick earned 2cd place in the Open dog class.
About Shabani
I chose Shabani as it was the name of a town in Rhodesia, in the heart of lion country, the Ridgebacks homeland. It seemed like a fitting name for a Rhodesian Ridgeback Kennel.
Shabani is dedicated to breeding happy, healthy, sound Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I spend most of my time showing, lure coursing and enjoying them as part of the family.
It wasn't until my third Ridgeback, Penzi, that I really got involved with showing and breeding Ridgebacks. Penzi is my foundation bitch and I have gone forward with her trying to improve upon what I started with and breed sound, happy dogs that meet the standard.
I am a member in good standing of both The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS) and The New England Rhodesian Ridgeback Club.
Currently Kali, Diva, Brandi, Bruiser, Pirate, Duchess and Rubi live with us all the time; we occasionally other RR visitors. Brandi and Bruiser have completed thier AKC championships in 07 and now we will start showing Pirate and Duchess.
We have plans for a late summer or early fall 2009 litter. Check back frequently for more details or send me an email. You can see the parents on my puppy page.
